Print your drawing – a trial course on October 18
Those of you who are curious about graphics, but haven’t yet taken the plunge, can try drypoint engraving this afternoon, a printing technique where the motif is carved into the printing plate. Choose a sketch or something else (phone doodles are also fine!).
We use drypoint plastic that is transparent, the plastic is placed on the drawing and the lines are carved, the plate is colored and wiped off so that only the carved lines are colored, the plate plus a moistened printing paper is run through the press and – tadaa! – you have made a graphic sheet! If you then want to add color, you print again, creating a monotype.
We use AKUA brand color that is based on soybean oil, “kind”, easy to work with and possible to clean up with soap and water.
The course can give you a taste of what can be done in a graphic workshop, but unfortunately does not give continued access to the workshop and the opportunity to apply for membership in Ålgården. Then you need to take a basic course in graphic arts, for example 6-7 December at Ålgården.
Time: 12.45-16.00
Price: 500 SEK
The price includes materials, the plastic sheets are max A4, keep that in mind when choosing a drawing.
