5 - 8 November 2026
What began with a simple Post-it note in the hands of a fourth-grade class in the heart of Bredared eventually grew into a project called “Skriv!” (Write!). Through free-flowing writing, the students were able to dive into storytelling without hesitation, guided by the warm support of their teacher, Julia. This collection features twenty carefully crafted stories covering everything from the poignant fates of dragons and magical flowers to lost hamsters and snack thieves in the staff room.
To bring the stories further to life, teachers Elin and Julia put their heads together to create the project “Illustrera!” (Illustrate!). First-year students from the Visual Arts and Design program at Bäckängsgymnasiet have brought the fourth-graders’ stories to life with great passion and a keen aesthetic eye. Seeing their stories illustrated offers the younger students a new perspective, while providing the art students with valuable experience for their future careers as visual creators.
This project bridges grade levels, bringing together rural and urban settings, yet it is united by the central role of storytelling—whether through words or images.
