During the period September 20 to November 30, our members will create outdoor works at Ålgården’s beautiful park environment, which is always open to visitors. Some of the works will be outside throughout the entire period.
Between October 31 and November 9, we will be showing the projects Babel and Åliansen in our gallery.
Project Babel is an international collaborative project in graphics where 335 graphic artists from 40 graphic workshops (including Ålgården) and 19 countries together create a work of art based on the painting The Tower of Babel by Pieter Bruegel the Elder. Babel is organized by Ratamo in Jyväskylä, Finland. Ålgården is showing one copy, the other two editions are currently on tour around the world. Here you can find more about the project and the ideas behind it: https://www.jyvaskyla.fi/en/ratamo-english/print-workshop/project-babel Åliansen is inspired by the idea behind Babel – that artists together create a joint work based on the contributions of individual artists.
Three eels joined by parts that wind around the gallery walls are a collaboration between artists active at Ålgården.
