Jan Peter Dahlqvist
This year, 2026, it will be 45 years since I began my artistic career. During my first years as an active artist, I worked mainly with copper graphics but drew and painted in parallel. After a time with imaginative, realistic motifs, I longed for a different visual world and began painting abstract compositions. It meant a kind of redemption that gave me great joy and pleasure in creating images. A pleasure that still remains. I have been called a surrealist and possibly my images can be perceived that way, but it is and has never been a conscious decision. I have simply created images based on an intuitive feeling, where each image becomes a kind of inner journey towards a personal expression that feels right to me. In the exhibition I will show both new and previous images. Images:
